Membership
The Georgia Small Business Lender, Inc. (GSBL) is governed by a membership composed of 45 citizens representing bankers, business people, and economic development professionals. The members serve three-year terms which are staggered. Each year, one third of the total membership is up for reappointment or replacement. The Middle Georgia RDC Board of Directors makes the appointments in August of each year.
The full membership of the GSBL meets once a year in September for its Annual Meeting. In addition to any current business at hand, the membership also elects a 16-person Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors meets generally on a monthly basis to handle the business of the GSBL. It also is the loan review committee for GSBL loan programs. Each month, the staff presents loan applications to the Board and they evaluate the applications based on credit worthiness and impact on the community.
